We have put together a new series of statewide events, one of which begins Tuesday, September 14th. This event will be the first in a monthly, statewide, “Visual Strategies Series” where participants can join us, for free, in our Anchorage and Fairbanks offices or via live on-line streaming to learn a strategy, make their own supports, and practice using them. Material kits are available for purchase (at cost) from our resource center and can be mailed anywhere in the state. Topics and final products will change monthly, so feel free to distribute this flyer to anyone you think may be interested or add it to your organization’s newsletter.
Suggested materials needed for the September 14, 2010 “I am working for…” project:
We would greatly appreciate it if you call or email us and let us know you are interested in purchasing a package of materials that will be used for the additional 9 projects in the series. We are still determining the cost but are hoping to keep it at a nominal charge.

The Fairbanks AARC office now has a Make and Take area set up for making visual supports. Visit the office during business hours for a tutorial. You will be able to access Boardmaker software and a color printer in order to develop visual schedules, communication boards, and visual rules. Be as creative as you want, or feel free to utilize our templates.
